So why is Valentine's Day February 14th?Originally, February 14th was Lovers' Day abroad.February 14th, lovers' day, was designated Valentine's Day in Japan.Valentine's Day became popular in Japan because major confectionery companies started selling chocolate on Valentine's Day.   Report of the presentations 5~group1~           The number first person in my last group was Tsuyoshi Horikawa. He was talking about unique beans, For example, clover, Modama and winged beans. I was very happy, because he introduced my hometown beans. I have never heard that Modama may be beans which appear jack and beanstalk. It is very interesting.      The number second  person in my last group was  Noriko . She was talking about Soy meat. She introduced characteristics of soy meat.   Report of the presentations 4~group2~           The number first person in my last group was Tsuyoshi Horikawa. He was talking about Rice cake. For example, he talked about rice cake history and characteristics of the form of rice cake. He said that zoni in Kanto contains square rice cakes and zoni in Kansai contains circle rice cakes. I thought it interesting he said "when you eat rice cakes, you eat them slowly. This is because you are hard to clog up.      The number second  person in my last group was  Fuka Inomoto . She was talking about rice cakes. For example, she talked about reason of eating rice cakes in new year in Japan.   Report of the presentations 3~group1~          The number first person in my last group was Tsuyoshi Horikawa. He was talking about Apple. He talked about four kinds of apples, for example, Fuji, Jonagold, Orin and Kogyoku. I was surprised to find that Fuji apples are the most common in Japan.     The number second  person in my last group was  Rin Ueda . She was talking about figs. She talked about how to eat figs, for example, Marinade and Jam. I was surprised that Amakusa was the birthplace of the fig. I thought it interesting to call figs Nanbangaki in Amakusa.     The number third person in my last group was Mayuko Nishi. She was talking about persimmons and figs. Report of the presentations 2~group1~         The number second  person in my last group was Mayuko Nishi. She was talking about Ryukyu. It is Oita prefecture's traditional fish food.      Hello. I am Mami Harada. I am from Amami, Kagoshima. I had been doing kendo for about 10 years. It is been a year and a half since I met you guys first time. I think you already know a little bit about my background. So, I finish my introduction about my upbringing. So what do I want you to know? That is part of my personality, such as my way of thinking.     I have a dream.  It is not an occupation. My dream is to work in my hometown. This has not changed since I was in elementary school. Rather, this feeling is stronger now. I have been very shy since I was little. Even so, I had people who always talked to me when I went to and from school. I had a lot of opportunities to get involved with people of all generations. I love that kind of environment. I love the villagers who create this kind of environment.
